Dyson Black Friday Deal: The Cyclone V10 Stick Vac Is $150 off

A Dyson stick vacuum is a status item, but unlike a fancy handbag, it’s incredibly useful. These vacs are cordless, light, and maneuverable; I can clean everything, anywhere in my house, from ceiling spiderwebs in the bathroom to the trunk of my car.

Dyson regularly releases new stick vacuums and puts older models and different configurations on sale. The Cyclone V10 is the 2018 version, which WIRED senior editor Michael Calore reviewed. We tested the Absolute, but the cheaper V10 Animal that’s on sale here is almost identical, using the same motor and bin size. It only lacks the Absolute’s soft roller head attachment.

If you’ve been waiting for just the right moment to pick up a powerful, versatile stick vacuum, now is your chance. The cheaper but slightly less powerful V8 Absolute is also on sale exclusively at Dyson’s website. It might make more sense to spend an extra $50 for the V10 with this deal, but if it sells out and you still need a great stick vac, the V8 Absolute will treat you well for years to come. For more information, don’t forget to check our guide to Dyson vacuums.

The V10 Animal Costs $349 ($150 off) at Dyson, Best Buy, Target, and Bed Bath & Beyond

Is the V10 Right for You?

WIRED: In his review (8/10, WIRED Recommends), WIRED’s Michael Calore says the V10 is lighter and easier to handle than previous Dyson stick vacuums, and most importantly, its suction power is so great there’s “very little the V10 can’t pick up.” Another bonus: It runs quiet! It’s wireless, so you don’t have to drag cords from room to room. The battery’s run time is around an hour. It also has a bigger bin than its predecessors, which means fewer trips to the trash can to empty it.

TIRED: Even on sale, this is a pricey vacuum. Calore also says that despite the push-lever emptying mechanism, you may have to get your hands dirty to thoroughly empty the bin.
