Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and former Trump attorney Sidney Powell both had their accounts suspended “in line with our policy on Coordinated Harmful Activity,” a Twitter spokesperson told POLITICO on Friday.

“We’ve been clear that we will take strong enforcement action on behavior that has the potential to lead to offline harm, and given the renewed potential for violence surrounding this type of behavior in the coming days, we will permanently suspend accounts that are solely dedicated to sharing QAnon content,” the spokesperson said.

The move comes after Twitter suspended Trump’s account for 12 hours and removed tweets relating to Wednesday’s violent mass assault on the Capitol. Facebook disabled Trump’s account until at least after President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration.

Both Flynn and Powell have promoted QAnon content on their social media, and Powell’s peddling of conspiracy theories led the Trump campaign to distance itself from her during its challenges of the 2020 elections.

QAnon conspiracy theories involve a convoluted mythology of deep-state cabals and satanic child abuse rings with no basis in reality. The FBI has dubbed it and other similar conspiracy theories a domestic terrorism threat.
