Google is helping design an open source, ultra-secure chip

Hackers seem to launch new attacks every day, but a new kind of chip could provide some protection. Google has partnered with a group of companies, nonprofits, and academic institutions to begin a project called OpenTitan, which sets out to make a more secure chip that lifts the curtain on the secret information that chips are usually built upon.

Facebook’s logo gets a face-lift

Facebook has had a rough few years, but now the company is taking a step to spruce up its logo and rebrand—OK, maybe not quite rebrand. The company announced Monday it would change from Facebook to FACEBOOK (that’s not a typo), and says that its new “subtle softening of corners and diagonals” will add “a sense of optimism.”
