Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) asked whether “anyone” has been drug tested hours before a House committee receives a briefing from the Secret Service about cocaine found in the White House last week.
Tests confirmed last week that the white powder substance found on July 2 in the West Wing of the White House was cocaine. The Secret Service launched an investigation into how the cocaine got into the building. The agency will brief the Republican-led House Oversight and Reform Committee on Thursday at 10 a.m.

Greene, who sits on the committee, tweeted on Thursday morning that she was “looking forward” to the briefing, followed by a question for her followers.

The briefing is expected to take place behind closed doors in a SCIF, a sensitive compartmented information facility used to handle and discuss classified information.
Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) announced last week that his committee is investigating the security failures at the White House that led to cocaine being found in the West Wing. On July 7, he requested a briefing from the Secret Service.
“The presence of illegal drugs in the White House is unacceptable and a shameful moment in the White House’s history,” Comer said in a statement. “Congress funds White House security procedures, and the Secret Service has a responsibility to maintain effective safety protocols. This incident and the eventual evacuation of staff now clearly raises concerns about the level of security maintained at the White House.”
The drug was found while President Joe Biden and his family were out of town, and it was located inside a cubby near the West Executive entrance, where visitors typically drop off their cellphones and other belongings.

Former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, who served in the Trump administration, eliminated Hunter Biden as a suspect despite his well-documented history of drug use. McEnany said last week the West Wing is “heavily trafficked” and that the bag was probably “discovered rather quickly” by Secret Service, so the timeline does not match up for the younger Biden to be the culprit.
