A majority of Americans believe that the inflationary grocery prices will continue to increase.
That’s according to the latest Rasmussen Reports.
The survey found that 85% of American adults say they’re paying more for groceries now than they were a year ago. This number is slightly down from the 89% recorded in August.
Only nine percent (9%) now say they aren’t paying more for groceries.
Fifty-seven percent (57%) expect that the amount they spend on groceries a year from now will be even higher.
Fifty-seven percent (57%) say rising food prices have caused them to change their eating habits, while 37% have not changed the way they eat because of inflation.
Twenty-two percent (22%) expect their grocery bill to remain about the same.
Only 10% think they’ll be paying less for groceries in a year and another 12% are not sure.
