19 Best After-Christmas Sales and Deals (2022): Vacuums, Phones, and Board Games

Whether you received some gift cards over the holidays or you’re still shopping for gifts for folks you’ll see later in the year, post-Christmas sales offer lots of opportunities to stretch your dollars. We’ve rounded up our favorite discounts below. Many of these sales will be extended for a few days, but shopping earlier generally ensures the best availability.

Special offer for Gear readers: Get a 1-year subscription to WIRED for $5 ($25 off). This includes unlimited access to WIRED.com and our print magazine (if you’d like). Subscriptions help fund the work we do every day.

Tech Deals

Google Pixel 6 Pro.

The Pixel 6 Pro (9/10, WIRED Recommends) has been on sale for a while, but the price has never dropped this low. Consider the newer Pixel 7 Pro first, but you’ll save hundreds on the 2021 model, which has an excellent 4X optical zoom camera, a 120-Hz screen refresh rate, and a big enough battery to last more than a full day of average use.

Don’t want to spend as much? The long-running deal on the Pixel 6A (8/10, WIRED Recommends) has finally ended, but it is still discounted to $368 ($81 off). Read more about these devices and their differences in our Best Google Pixel Phones guide.

This is one of the better prices we’ve seen for our favorite robot vacuum. The Roborock Q5+ (9/10, WIRED Recommends) cleans reliably and quietly. The battery life is great, and the little robot will automatically return to the dock when it needs to charge or empty its dust bin.

This is our favorite wireless gaming mouse. Not only because it has a USB-C dongle that lets you plug it into nearly any modern device, but also because it’s comfortable, really responsive, and isn’t cluttered with too many buttons.

Square Off Pro

Want to play chess but never have anyone to play with? This chessboard is the answer. You can connect the Square Off Pro to the Square Off app via Bluetooth, and then connect your Chess.com or Lichess.org accounts to play against opponents around the world. The pieces don’t move by themselves but you’ll see what moves they make via LEDs on the board and you can then move their pieces to those positions.

As you’ll note in our Best Apple Watch guide, the Series 7 is still totally fine to buy, even if it’s a model from 2021. Just make sure you don’t pay prices close to the latest Series 8, which retails at $499 for the cellular model. Well, you’re in luck. The Series 7 cellular (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is an excellent smartwatch, especially if you want to stay connected to the internet when your iPhone isn’t nearby. Remember to factor in the monthly data charge in your purchasing decision.

This is an older model, but we still like the Garmin Instinct Solar (8/10, WIRED Recommends). It recharges automatically when you’re out in the sun, meaning the battery can last up to a week on a single charge. Aside from built-in GPS, it also has a wide array of metric tracking capabilities. We don’t love the bulky design, but if a big watch won’t bug you, this deal is a good way to save some cash. Our Best Garmin Watches guide might help you decide.

Logitech G915

If you spend a lot of time in Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, Blender, or other creative apps, then this is a great keyboard. The keys are raised and offer great tactile feedback, and you can connect the USB-C dongle for a reliable connection. What makes it special are the macro keys on the left side of the board. With Logitech’s software, you can program these keys to trigger custom shortcuts or even execute scripts.

If you spend a lot of time on a motorbike, it’s worth upgrading to a Bluetooth headset instead of standard wireless earbuds. This Freecom model has a nice scroll wheel that makes it easy to operate while wearing motorcycle gloves. Best of all, you can link them up to other Cardo headsets so you can talk to your friends while riding (at up to a half-mile distance).

We like Nova Launcher, and so does the rest of the internet. It’s a good way to declutter your Android smartphone and customize your home screen. If you got a new tablet or phone as a holiday gift and you’ve been wanting to check it out, this sale price is generally one of the best we tend to see all year.

Deals on Everything Else

Dyson V12 Detect

The Dyson V12 (8/10, WIRED Recommends) shoots a green laser at its base to help you see tiny dust particles you would otherwise miss. Like most Dyson stick vacs, it’s lightweight and easy to maneuver, it’s easy to clean, and you can even remove the battery. This is one of the best deals we’ve seen on it.

This sale comes around twice a year and generally offers the best prices you’ll find on Bath & Body Works products. Some highlights from the selection include 50 percent off hand soaps and hand sanitizers, plus body care on sale from $4. Shipping adds $7, but you might be able to select free in-store pickup depending on your location.

There are hundreds of items to choose from in this sale, with discounts ranging up to half off a product’s normal price. The selection includes many styles of LL Bean’s iconic duck boots, which tend to be pricey and aren’t often discounted. (This specific style isn’t on sale, but we recently published a love letter detailing why LL Bean duck boots are awesome.)

Bonavita Electric Gooseneck Kettle.

Photograph: Amazon

This kettle is recommended in our Best Dorm Gear guide and as a cheaper alternative to our favorite electric kettle. It usually costs at least $100. It’s reliable and has a gooseneck spout for precise pouring. Added bonus: Electric kettles don’t wake up the whole house with a shrill scream once your water is done boiling. Amazon Prime members get free shipping at Woot.

Prime Members can save on two-month subscriptions of various premium streaming channels, including Showtime, AMC+, Paramount+, Starz, Cinemax, and others. These services usually cost between $7 and $11 per month, so you’re saving money no matter which you go with. Just make sure you set a reminder to avoid auto-renewal if you don’t want subsequent charges once the trials end.

The holidays are over, but kids still have a handful of days to go a little stir-crazy. Restock the family game closet with this sale and save on classics like Uno, Jenga, Candy Land, and plenty of others. Add two items to your cart and the cheapest will drop even more in price.

Tentree Parka

Tentree’s loungewear is both comfortable and sustainably made. The brand is carbon-neutral and highlights in-depth notes on its materials, but our favorite part is the free tree planting. Every item sold comes with a code. Redeem it and the brand will plant 10 trees in your honor. We’ve liked everything we’ve tested from the brand, but if you don’t know where to start, check out the men’s Atlas Sweatpants and Highline Wool Crew Sweater. They’re soft and flattering, and the shape holds up throughout the day.

Products from AmazonBasics are generally reliable (YMMV) and exceedingly varied. The private label can be found on everything from thumb tacks to charging cables and gadgets. Maybe you need a bed frame or some new dishes. This sale features both, plus several other pages’ worth of products to peruse. Prices start at around two bucks.

Girlfriend Collective Recycled Beanie.

Photograph: Girlfriend Collective

This is one of the best gifts for people who are perpetually cold. The beanie is supremely soft and warm, and it’s also sustainably made. We like other gear from Girlfriend Collective too. All of it is on sale for at least 30 percent off, thanks to the brand’s Boxing Day sale. Just add items to your cart to see the discount reflected during checkout. You’ll get a higher percentage off if you spend more—40 percent off orders over $200 and 50 percent off orders over $300.

Lush makes good-smelling, sustainable beauty and body care products. Its offerings are often expensive and don’t go on sale frequently. This Boxing Day sale is an opportunity to save half off the normal price on all sorts of goodies, including an assortment of the brand’s popular bath bombs.
