More Americans said they planned to do Black Friday shopping this year, but they said they don’t plan to spend more on holiday gifts.
That’s according to Rasmussen Reports.
According to the survey of 1,000 people, 43% were more likely to shop the day after Thanksgiving to take advantage of some of the biggest sales of the year at many stores. Among them, 19% said they were “very likely” to shop then.
Last year, 37% said they planned to shop on Black Friday.
Since last year, Covid fears have lessened. Experts say that means more in-person shopping this holiday season. But with soaring inflation and much higher energy prices, many Americans have less expendable income.
