School age children in Pennsylvania are no longer forced to wear masks inside schools, after a recent court decision.
This decision was handed down by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court on Dec. 10. It ruled that Acting Health Secretary Allison Beam did not have authority to issue a mask mandate for everyone indoors at schools and child care centers.
Pennsylvania Senate President Pro Tempore Jake Corman, a Republican who is running for governor, filed the lawsuit personally, along with other parents.
With [the Dec. 10] ruling, the power for parents and local leaders to make health and safety decisions in our schools is restored. I encourage all stakeholders to review the needs and conditions in our communities to make the best choices for our kids.
