During Wednesday’s broadcast of ReidOut on MSNBC, host Joy Reid read out the names of Kyle Rittenhouse’s “victims,” noting that those are the people that should be remembered, not Rittenhouse. Judge Shroeder, who is presiding over the Kenosha proceedings, refused to allow prosecutors to refer to the men as “victims.”

“Let me just remind people of the names of the victims. Joseph Rosenbaum was 36 years old. Anthony Huber who was 26. Gaige Grosskreutz is only 27 years old was injured. These are the victims. These are the people that people ought to remember. The people who were hurt here, not the person who was crying on the stand today,” said Reid.

Witnesses, including Grosskreutz, testified that a mob was chasing Rittenhouse. Grosskreutz also testified that he pulled a gun on Rittenhouse and advanced toward him with that gun drawn. Huber beat Rittenhouse with his skateboard. Both of these instances are caught on film.

Those Rittenhouse shot in what his legal team calls self-defense are painted as being law abiding people who did nothing wrong, leaving out any mention that two of those shot had a criminal history. Following the shootings, it was revealed that Rosenbaum was a convicted sex offender, and Huber a domestic abuser. Grosskreutz did not have a permit for the weapon he pointed at Rittenhouse before he was shot.

During Rittenhouse’s trial on Wednesday, Rittenhouse took the stand in his own defense. While describing the events and his actions on the night of August 25, 2020, when he fatally show Rosenbaum and Huber, and wounded Grosskreutz, he broke down in tears.

As he was walking away from that Car Source lot 3, he testified: “I looked back over his shoulder and Mr. Rosenbaum was now running by my right side, and I was cornered from in front of me with Mr. Zaminsky and there were three people right there,” he said, breaking down in tears. At this point, the judge called for a short break.

Rittenhouse was mocked by left-wing Twitter users, with NBA star LeBron James writing on Wednesday night: “What tears????? I didn’t see one. Man knock it off! That boy ate some lemon heads before walking into court.”

CNN’s Ana Navarro suggested that Rittenhouse’s tears were fake, and offered condolences to the families of those that Rittenhouse shot.

“Kyle Rittenhouse shot and killed Anthony Huber, 26, and Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, and injured Gaige Grosskreutz, now 27,” she wrote. “Think about how much their loved ones have cried, real anguish and grief, not crocodile tears.”
