Republican voters overwhelmingly favor former President Donald Trump as their party’s nominee in next year’s primaries.
That’s according to the latest Rasmussen Reports.
The national survey found that 57% of likely Republican voters would vote for Trump, while 13% would vote for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as the GOP nominee.
Other 2024 candidates have single-digit support among Republican voters: Former Vice President Mike Pence (5%), former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (5%), South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott (4%), former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley (4%), former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson (4%) and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy (3%).
Trump’s lead among GOP voters has only slightly diminished since May, when he got 62% in a six-candidate primary field.
Among all likely voters, 68% say it is likely they will vote in the 2024 Republican presidential primaries, including 56% who say it is “very likely.”
Among those who say it is “very likely” they’ll vote in next year’s GOP primaries, Trump leads with 49%, with DeSantis at 12% and Christie at eight percent (8%).
