Uber may be banned in London, one of its biggest markets

Transport for London, the agency that regulates taxis and for-hire vehicles in the city, has stated it won’t renew Uber’s license to operate, citing a “pattern of failures” on safety. Uber is allowed to operate in London for another 21 days, and it plans to appeal the ruling. Uber has every reason to avoid a forced Brexit of its vehicles: 24 percent of its ride-hail gross bookings in 2018 came from just five metropolitan areas—Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, São Paulo, and London.
