Biden Says ‘White Supremacy’ Most Dangerous Threat To U.S. In Commencement Speech At Historically Black College

President Joe Biden ginned up racial tensions at the graduation ceremony for Howard University on Saturday, claiming that America’s greatest threat comes in the form of “white supremacy.”

Biden gave the commencement address for the historically black college and university (HBCU) at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. In the speech, the president took a pessimistic view of America’s fight against racism, claiming that it is “a battle that’s never really over.”

Then, Biden told graduates to be on guard for what he views as the greatest threat to our nation.

“The most dangerous terrorist threat to our homeland is white supremacy,” Biden told the crowd who responded with applause. “And I’m not saying this because I’m at a Black HBCU. I say it wherever I go.”

The Democrat president also took a veiled shot at his opponent, former President Donald Trump.

“Let’s be clear: There are those who don’t see you and don’t want this future,” Biden said. “There are those who demonize and pit people against one another. And there are those who do anything and everything, no matter how desperate or immoral, to hold onto power. And that’s never going to be an easy battle.”

The president attempted to encourage the graduates by telling them that they represent the future of America, a future that showcases the “strength of our diversity at the center of American life.” Some Howard students in the crowd, however, still protested the Biden administration’s apparent failure to stand up for African Americans, according to POLITICO.

“A Black child was lynched yesterday!” one sign read, referring to the death of Jordan Neely on a New York City subway earlier this month.

“Biden and Harris don’t care about Black people,” another sign read.

Biden concluded by telling the Howard grads that they represent “the best” of America.

“I know this,” the president said. “The oldest, most sinister forces may believe they’ll determine America’s future, but they are wrong. We will determine America’s future. You will determine America’s future. And that’s not hyperbole.”
