Okay, ONE of the things wrong with Chicago.
Day before yesterday, 12-16 Cook County Sheriff and Chicago Police Department cars booked on down to the Godfrey Hotel at Huron and LaSalle. Caused quite a ruckus…
Most of the Sheriffs at LaSalle/Huron have cleared out. They were surrounding this crimson Chevy from Kentucky, and I spotted a sheriff pick up a phone from inside the car. #ChicagoScanner pic.twitter.com/l7GSS3DpHN

…and, naturally, everyone wanted to know what in the Sam Hell was going on to create that kind of a stir.
Was it Barack and Michelle?
The Blues Brothers (and that would be worth a ruckus considering the miracle it would take)?
Nope.
Just three guys in a car from Kentucky.
With weapons. Illegal weapons.
No worries.
“Judge William Fahy released all of them on I-bonds.”
#Chicago
Update: This was a traffic stop of a vehicle with Kentucky plates.
Prosecutors said each of the car’s occupants illegally possessed a loaded firearm. Three guns recovered.
The men told police they came to Illinois to buy pot from a dispensary.

And…there’s the problem. You’ve got a car – an out-of-state car, no less – with three adult males, each of whom is in possession of an illegal firearm. Add in some havey-cavey story about a pot dispensary trip (there are dispensaries in Illinois much closer to Kentucky than Chicago) to make it even more questionable as to motive…and they turn them loose.
The Cook County Sheriff’s press release makes it clear they weren’t CCW permit holders, or just passing through town, smoking pot as they toodled along with legally purchased firearms in the vehicle (I’m assuming they weren’t white supremacists.). Oh, no. no, no.
Has “peaceful pot tourist just in town to see the city lights” written all over it, does it not? And they cut all three of them loose on personal recognizance bonds in a black-on-black murder city.
I am not sure if that was solely a function of the judge, the Cook County DA, the potentially catastrophic IL Safe-T Act which took effect in January, or all of the above. None of which is good for the citizens of the state. As I headlined my post on it in December, “Wave goodbye, Chicago” and that was before Chicago elected an even softer on crime mayor than the clueless Lightfoot.
I hope they scored their legal dope before they headed back home. All bets are off that you’ll never see these scamps back in court to answer to a judge, as they’ve literally gotten their get-out-of-jail-free card already.
Chicago has its own homegrown guy-with-gun problem that they need to get a handle on. The lad pictured below was recently shot and killed by Chicago PD when he responded in a negative fashion to what seems to be an indecipherable, rarely understood request from police officers to young black males:
PUT DOWN YOUR WEAPON
It’s like cops are speaking Venusian or something.
He didn’t and more’s the pity for him. In the ongoing liberal media passion play, Mr. Clay is the victim of police brutality.
I’ll add one more to that pic.twitter.com/qKCWbX2cYm

They certainly don’t need to encourage more carnage by importing gunslingers from neighboring states who are out for a thrill ride and merely get turned loose if they live to get caught.
How safe is Chicago under @SAKimFoxx?
In the six years before Foxx became SA, Chicago recorded 3,011 homicides. In Foxx’s six years, Chicago suffered 4,001 homicides.
Between 2011-16, Chicago averaged 501 homicides a year, but under Foxx, it is averaging 666.
Foxx should be…

I mean, this is ONE of the problems.
So, SO many more and fixin’ to get much, much worse, especially when you just turn the problems loose.
