The following is a news analysis.
Robert F. “Bobby” Kennedy, Junior is the second Democrat to launch a challenge to President Joe Biden in 2024.
The filing of presidential candidate paperwork by the environmental attorney and activist is bound to set off alarms in PR and propaganda firms around the country for a number of reasons. Kennedy, like Republican Donald Trump, finds himself off the narrative of his chosen party on important topics. And, for those positions, he has been smeared and controversialized with sometimes false information.
For example, Kennedy’s Wikipedia biography states that he is “known for promoting anti-vaccine propaganda and conspiracy theories.” The pejorative Wikipedia page violates Wikipedia’s supposed policies requiring neutrality in biographies so that they cannot be co-opted by propagandists for corporate and political interests. However, a large number of Wikipedia pages on people and topics of importance to the pharmaceutical industry and political interests are heavily-controlled, and the agenda editors of Wikipedia do not allow the false information to be corrected.
The fact that Kennedy– like Trump– is so frequently attacked and misrepresented in the media is, in part, a result of his activism in exposing: facts and studies showing links between vaccines and autism, and other health disorders; issues with the medical establishment’s handling of Covid; and widespread misinformation that public health officials distributed regarding Covid vaccines.
Kennedy has otherwise spent his career advocating for many traditional Democrat causes.
At Kennedy’s website, it reads: “Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. has spent his life fighting for American democracy and the liberties guaranteed by the Constitution. He has battled against corporate greed and government corruption to protect our children, our health, our livelihoods, our environment, and above all, our freedom. With integrity, courage, and self-sacrifice, he has led Americans in an ennobling fight to restore our country as the exemplary nation, and to end the toxic polarization that divides us and enriches the elites. His steely character and unique history fighting crooked bureaucracies make Bobby the only person who can bridge the divide and fix our country.”
Kennedy is the nephew of President John F. Kennedy and son of President Kennedy’s brother, Robert F. Kennedy. Both John F. Kennedy and his brother were assassinated: JFK in 1963 by Lee Harvey Oswald, a socialist and follower of Marxism who had once defected to the Soviet Union, and who was murdered by night club owner Jack Ruby while in police custody; and RFK in 1968 by Sirhan Sirhan, a Palestinian man from Jordan said to be angry over US support for Israel against several Arab countries during the “Six Day War.”
Robert F. Kennedy, Junior– who goes by “Bobby”– suffers from spasmodic dysphonia. The voice disorder impacts the muscles that generate voice and results in an interrupted pattern of speech.
