Taylor Greene vows at CPAC to push ahead with bill for national ban for youth transgender therapies

Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Friday told an enthusiastic CPAC crowd, she will reintroduce her bill to ban transgender therapies on minors.

“When it comes to kids, I think the Republican Party has a duty,” Greene said at the annual Conservative Political Action Committee gathering, this year at Maryland’s National Harbor, outside of the nation’s capital. “We have a responsibility and that is to be the party that protects children.”

The conservative firebrand says she’ll re-introduced her her bill as early as next week, in an attempt to get it passed in the now-Republican-controlled House.

“Call every single member of Congress and tell them to get on the “Protect Children’s Innocence Act,” she said.

The bill makes it a felony to perform so-called “gender affirming care” on anyone under 18.

At least 15 GOP-led states have already passed such legislation.

Greene called out the multi-billion dollar industry that performs gender-affirming surgeries on minors, stating that this industry targets children and makes them victims of a dangerous ideology.

“The victims of this industry are kids,” she said. “These are kids who are confused about what they are. They’re confused about who they are because of what they’re seeing on the internet and what they’re seeing on social media.”
