18-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse spoke out after the jury found the teen not guilty on all charges Friday, following four days of intense deliberations and media pressure.
Rittenhouse appeared in a one-minute and 45-second teaser clip for a Tucker Carlson Originals documentary that will premiere on FOX Nation in December.
“The jury reached the correct verdict,” Rittenhouse said in the back of a vehicle, speaking to a cameraman following the acquittal. “Self-defense is not illegal, and I believe they came to the correct verdict, and I’m glad that everything went well.”

“It’s been a rough journey, but we made it through it,” Rittenhouse added, after he collapsed teary-eyed in the courtroom. “We made it through the hard part.”
The special will narrate Rittenhouse’s hectic past year after he shot three Jacob Blake rioters, killing two and injuring a third, while defending himself against a pursuing Black Lives Matter mob in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The teen was facing life in prison with no chance at parole over the August 2020 shootings.
“It’s the stuff that keeps you up at night. Once you do get to sleep, your dreams are about what happened and you’re waking up in a dark cold sweat,” Rittenhouse, who is in therapy for PTSD, told the filming Fox News crew.
Rittenhouse said he has dreams about the fatal night “every single day.”
“It’s quite scary actually, because the dreams feel so real. And they’re not the same at all. They’re all different. They’re the different scenarios that run through your heard during the day, like, what could have happened,” Rittenhouse detailed.
Rittenhouse’s defense attorney Mark Richards informed the court last Friday that defendant suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder after Judge Bruce Schroeder asked if Rittenhouse has been treated for a mental or emotional disorder.
The defendant was mocked by figures on the left earlier in the week for breaking down on the witness stand when he was prompted to describe the chaotic scene that took place on Aug. 25, 2020, suggesting that the emotional outburst was fake.
“I’m alive, but what could have happened?” Rittenhouse questioned. “What if I wasn’t alive, or what if I did let Mr. Rosenbaum steal my gun? It’s those types of dreams … almost every outcome is me getting seriously injured or hurt or dead. Those are the dreams I have on a daily basis.” Rittenhouse voiced.
FOX News host Tucker Carlson will conduct an exclusive interview with Rittenhouse, which a portion of the conversation will air Monday on Tucker Carlson Tonight at 8 pm EST. The documentary will include part of the interview as well as behind-the-scenes access to Rittenhouse and the teen’s defense team.

Carlson has conducted numerous interviews with major newsmakers, including Hunter Biden’s former business partner turned-whistleblower Tony Bobulinski.
The in-depth interview with Bobulinski last October ahead of the 2020 presidential eleciton garnered a viewer count of an eye-popping 7.6 million.
