Beckers Hospital Review has listed the number of reported resignations and firings from several hospital systems.
In those systems alone, more than 500 health care workers have left their jobs either voluntarily or because they were fired.
They include: 23 people fired from St. Claire HealthCare; 180 “terminations” from Med Center Health; 125 leaving IU Health; 11 resignations at Olean General Hospital; 30 resignations at Lewis County Health System hospital, forcing the temporary closing of its maternity unit; one firing from Tidelands Health; five fired from Medical University of South Carolina; six fired from RWJBarnabas Health; and 153 firings or terminations from Houston Methodist.
