A new video and features appear on the website of former President Donald Trump.
The video evokes the censorship and his unprecedented ban of his personal account, with 88 million followers, from Twitter.
“In a time of silence and lies,” read the words on the video, “A beacon of freedom arises. A place to speak freely and safely. Straight from the desk of Donald J. Trump.”
Below the video are short statements that Trump has issued, with social media sharing buttons next to them. However, when the Twitter of Facebook video share buttons are used, they do not appear to post the video.
The video ends with a slate that reads “Save America.”
A senior adviser to Trump, Jason Miller, has tweeted out that this is not the new platform Trump is developing.
“President Trump’s website is a great resource to find his latest statements and highlights from his first term in office, but this is not a new social media platform. We’ll have additional information coming on that front in the very near future.”
