Former President Trump was seen visiting a Cuban cafe just after his arraignment, joining others to dine at Versailles Restaurant in Miami.
He was met with warm enthusiasm from many supporters upon entering the establishment, some of whom soon after asked the former president to join them in prayer.
Supporters sang “happy birthday” to the former president, leading to him remarking, “some birthday … we’ve got a government that’s out of control,” before saying about his supporters, “what a great group of people.”
The group was seen on video huddled with the former president, who then embraced one of the supporters directly after.
Among the fans who came out to see Trump was the well-known former professional mixed martial artist Jorge Masvidal, who is a Miami native. As the two took a picture together, Trump joked, “just don’t fight him,” possibly in reference to Masvidal’s record for having the fastest knockout in UFC history.
Trump offered a comment on the political process he is being subjected to, proclaiming that “we have a country that is in decline like never before, and we can’t let it happen.” He then said he will be making a speech later tonight.
In a typical Trump fashion, the former president bellowed that he would be buying “food for everyone!”
A flurry of fans was seen yelling, “we love you, Trump” as he left Versailles Restaurant, with many reaching over security in hopes of shaking the former president’s hand.
After leaving, Trump thanked those who came out to see him for the “warm welcome” he received in Miami in spite of his unprecedented arraignment, posting his gratitude on Truth Social.
This massively enthusiastic reception of Trump in Miami comes after a similarly energized group of patrons at a Georgia Waffle House erupted into cheers after the former president entered the establishment and announced that wafflers are on him. One of his supporters even cooked the former president a homemade meatloaf recipe inspired by his late mother.
