During Monday’s episode of the ABC talk show “The View,” Whoopi Goldberg used the tragic police-related death of Tyre Nichols in Memphis, Tennessee to attack American police officers everywhere.

Goldberg Sounds Off
Nichols is a black man who died in Memphis earlier this month after being brutally beaten by a group of black police officers, according to Mediaite. Goldberg was quick to use this tragedy to call for police reform across the country after admitting that “clearly it doesn’t matter if it’s a white policeman or black policeman. It is the problem with the policing itself.”
“Seems things don’t make sense to people unless it’s somebody they can feel or they can recognize,” Goldberg said. “Do we need to see white people also get beaten before anybody will do anything?”
“I’m not suggesting that, so don’t write us and tell me what a racist I am,” she was quick to add. “I’m just asking is that what people have to see in order to wake up and realize this affects us all?”
No, Whoopi Goldberg! It’s NOT a police issue. Take away the uniforms and this happens everyday. This is HUMAN problem. We need police reform YES, but you can’t stop a human from being human so we have to find a way to work with it to improve policing. https://t.co/8MVi42SMuM

Ana Navarro Agrees
“People would have done more to help a dog out than they did to help Tyre Nichols!” Goldberg’s co-host Ana Navarro said in agreement.
“These cops were part of the SCORPION Unit,” Navarro continued. “It could not have been more aptly named because they were filled with poison and hatred and the desire to kill. That night they were out hunting for a victim, who just happened to be this young man, Tyre Nichols.”
“How many more times are we going to have to see black youth beaten to death, beaten to the point of not being recognizable, and do it over and over again?” she questioned.

Goldberg concluded the segment by saying that she has “had it up to here with this [sh*t]”
“I don’t know what we have to do! I don’t get it. I don’t understand why we are constantly asking and asking and asking. Is it just because folks have dehumanized us and made us like some kind of monsters,” she stated. “I’m sick of this! You should be sick of this…Let’s get something done, because this is not gonna stop until we stop it.”

Goldberg’s Previous Attack On Police
This is far from the first time that Goldberg has publicly attacked police. Back in 2020, she called for an overhaul of American police departments because she felt it was necessary to “reteach … how to police again.”
“Well, racism is in the heart of the country,” she said at the time, according to Yahoo News. “You can’t get away from it. Children are taught it without realizing that that’s what they’re learning. So, the first thing that has to happen is people have to first look at people and see them for who they are, not for who they fear they are, but for who they actually are.”
“The good cops have to call out bad behavior, so we can get rid of the bad cops,” she continued. “And reteach police departments around the country how to police again. Because now they’re soldiers, and we’re not in a war. We’re not in wars in our towns and neighborhoods. So they must relearn how to police.”

What happened to Nichols was horrifying, but his death should not be used by members of the liberal media to attack millions of police officers all over the country.
The vast majority of American police officers are good people who put their lives on the line for the rest of us every day, and they deserve to be admired and respected for that, not attacked by Hollywood elites like Whoopi Goldberg.
